Faith and Fear in Flushing made its debut on Feb. 16, 2005, the brainchild of two longtime friends and lifelong Met fans.
Greg Prince discovered the Mets when he was 6, during the magical summer of 1969. He is a Long Island-based writer, editor and communications consultant. Contact him here.
Jason Fry is a Brooklyn writer whose first memories include his mom leaping up and down cheering for Rusty Staub. Check out his other writing here.

My theory is that Gl@v!ne saw Castillo, thought of him as a Marlin, remembered being a Met and was shaken up. It took one inning for him to snap out of it and go back to being the eternal Brave that he is.
"But I have to say that my time with the Mets wouldn't have been the same without the greatest fans in the world," he said. "One of the hardest moments of my career was walking off the field at Shea Stadium and saying goodbye. My relationship with you made my time in New York the happiest of my career and for that, I will always be grateful."
If he doesn't go in as a Met, I will sabotage his plaque and make him a Met.
It's too bad Big Mike wasn't here to take T#m Gl@v!ne into the largely empty seats in that first inning. And now we're facing a rookie pitcher in his second major league start. God help us.
