Things I will now be heartbroken/furious/institutionalized if we don't get:
* Postseason baseball

Things I would dearly love to see:
* A World Series title
* Edgardo Alfonzo finds his way onto the postseason roster in the Mazzilli role

Thing that wouldn't be as good as that, but would still make me very happy:
* Edgardo Alfonzo finds his way onto the regular-season roster, gets a standing O and a big hit

Things that I won't ask for but would be awfully nice:
* A great second half and fond farewell for Cliff Floyd
* An MVP award
* New club records for HRs, RBIs, Rs and SBs
* A 20-game winner

Things that the mean little part of me would like:
* That other team we share this team with not playing postseason ball
* Not worrying about the Braves in September

Things I hope for every night and now have given up on:
* That which has been mentioned

Two straight Mets lining out to the pitcher on the first two pitches of an inning, and the third batter tempting fate (and breaking many rules) by swinging at the third pitch of the inning and being retired on the fourth.

We're missing the obligatory sprinkler delay, lefty-reliever ripping a double and scoring off Randy Johnson, right fielder falling down to make a catch, and third baseman rendering gloves irrelevant. But hey, there's still time.
