If anyone has an upset stomach this morning and needs to purge, don't bother sticking your finger down your throat to get things going. Nope, just head over to espn.com and read Jayson Starks nonsensical, moronic, and absolute shat piece on how the Cards are on the verge of something historical.
Historical? Are you fucking kidding me? Since when is it history for one division winner to beat another divison winner who just so happens to be missing two starters and a left fielder? If there is a god two things will happen: 1. The Mets will win the next two games 2. I will meet up with Jayson Stark some day and channel Ray Guy as I kick him in the balls Lucky for us we have a great team with much better pitching depth coming home to win two games so we don't need god for part 1. Oddly appropriate, since that song seems to contradict itself claiming that "it doesn't make a difference if we make it or not" but "we'll make it I swear." I suppose that's true.

i may be biased with my money in vegas for the metropolitans to win the NL or bc i own four times more mets hats than i have heads, but I never have felt so good when down and almost out. game 6 in shea! i love that string of words!

Historically, on balance, game 6's have been pretty good to our boys: 1969 -- There wasn't one 1973 -- Hunter bests Seaver 3-1 (0-1) 1986 -- NLCS: We all know about this one (1-1) 1986 -- World Series : We all know about this one, too (2-1) 1988 -- NLCS: David Cone tosses a nifty 5-hitter to keep things going (3-1) 1999 -- NLCS: We all know about this one, three (3-2) 2000 -- There wasn't one So in 5 game 6's, we've had 2 historic wins, 1 historic loss and 1 of each regular variety.
